Do you like open mics? Do you feel spiritually fulfilled by the onset of Spring? Are you furious about the world's unequal distribution of wealth? Do you enjoy the decadence and depravity of watching horses get beat with sticks while you casually sip mint juleps? Well, then we've got the party for you! Join us May 2nd for the world's very first International Worker's Beltane Derby Day.
Spring is upon us!
As the days grow longer, the time grows nigh for the gates of the Faerie World to open again. That’s right, Beltane (Bealtaine) is coming! In combination with International Labor Day (May Day, a commemoration of the Haymarket Massacre), and the Kentucky Derby, we have a magnificent event in the making.
We invite you to join with other magical beings to in a celebration of this ancient Celtic tradition, including a Maypole, leaping over bonfires, invocations, enchantments, live music, pageantry, and the most fae way to observe and wager on the fastest two minutes in sports: The Kentucky Derby! In the spirit of International Labor Day (May Day), we will be idle and insolent, sovereign Queens and Kings of our own unlimited potential!
Come feast, fest, and be merry! Bring your finest faerie regalia, and something to wager (faeries can bet with anything). Bring your instruments, your voice, your whimsy, your cheer! Join us for the opening of the Faerie Gates, the horse race, and a solemn remembrance of the laborers who struggled for us to have precious Time for leisure, play, and rest. Blessed Be!
